Hon'ble Mr. Justice Arvind Srivastava was born on April 4th, 1962. He completed his LL.B. Degree from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and got enrolled as an advocate on December 2nd, 1985. He prominently dealt with civil matters in the District Court, Varanasi.

He joined Bihar Superior Judicial Service as an Additional District and Sessions Judge in the year 1997. He became the District & Sessions Judge of Kaimur in the year 2006. He also remained District & Sessions Judge of Muzaffapur in the year 2011. In the year 2008, he was posted as Senior Legal Adviser to the Bihar State Electricity Board. In the year 2013, he was posted as Secretary to Hon'ble Lokayukta of Bihar on deputation.

He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Patna High Court on December 9th, 2016.

District & Sessions Judge, a member of Superior Judicial Services of Bihar Judicial Service, is the administrative head of the Civil & Sessions Division in the state. Another officer of similar rank is posted in the Judgeship as Principal Judge, Family court. All the ministerial staff of the subordinate courts of the civil and sessions division is under the immediate administrative control of Distt. & Sessions Judge. He is also the disciplinary authority in respect of ministerial staff. All correspondence to the Hon’ble High Court & the Govt. is done in the name of District & Sessions Judge. For his administrative functioning, an officer designated as ‘Court Manager’ is posted to assist him.Who is posted for his assistance. In order to assist the Distt. & Sessions Judge, a section traditionally named as ‘English Section’ works.

With respect to all other courts, also present in the Judgeship, the District & Sessions Judge is the administrative controller and ultimately he works as the friend, philosopher and guide of the Judgeship and shapes it accordingly.
